Sorry No Bugs Here!by SteveinnzComment: It's a decent shot, but compositionally, there's just nothing strong to hold attention. Even when dealing with 'macros' or 'close shots' -- you can still pay good bit of attention to composition and rule of thirds or leading lines -- just have to get a bit more creative. Anyway...6...good job, but could be better if you spent more time thinking about it. |

Span-Tastic by alanfreedComment: Don't you just HATE those stupid banners they hang up? I mean that is like a landmark for the city!
CONGRATS!!!!!
You captured the beauty of the bridge much more than myself. Great shot, Alan!
edit: and might I add -- quite a scary vantage point that late at night!!! Message edited by author 2005-05-11 00:26:20. |

civic.jpgby MaverickComment: Looks pretty good. I noticed you had a lot of shots published, so I'm not going to try and act like I know more than you here, but I did read recently, that the best time to shoot a car is right as the sun goes behind the horizon.
Also, the reflections in the car are a bit distracting here, and take away from its color...I think there's also a slight white balance problem from the street lights -- maybe try shooting in RAW next time. Good work though, I love automotive photography, keep them coming. |

Kinga #1961by lagavulinComment: Interesting photo. Shows curves -- good use of shadow and light -- but I think this one is just begging for a little more light and a little less shadow -- at least from my point of view. Very good though -- something I hope to have the opportunity to shoot some day. |

Jamaica surfby plongcamComment: This is a nice shot -- great subject and shows awesome action. Unfortunately, most of the surfer is just a big shadow and the water is overexposed. Can you use spot-metering on your d70, I'm not sure -- but I would suggest using that...and try shooting from an angle where the sun is directly hitting your subject -- otherwise, the water will be really blown. |

Palm Trees at Sunsetby Bran-O-RamaComment: What a beautiful shot! Something about shots like that with the moon in view just really draw me in. The dark clouds in the background add a sense of surrealism to the photo. Clearly a great example of waiting until the light is just right then taking the shot. Good work! |

4Vincentby messerschmittComment: Really interesting photo. I like the high contrast, but I think the highlights could be toned down just a little, for my personal taste anyway. Very interesting though, and it's pleasing to the eye -- you should offer this in a print. |

They Fought For They're Countryby JectoComment: Interesting subject -- this shot could hold more interest if you had backed off a little bit, got the camera closer to the ground and found a nice angle. Maybe fire the flash to light up the tombstone to set it apart from what's behind it. Nice shot as it is though, just begging for a little more attention. |

Yellow-Classic.jpgby jmleliiComment: Not sure if I like the selective desaturation here -- There's still just too much going on in the background to distract the viewer's eyes. Maybe if it was all color and you could use the background to give it more interest. Just my opinion though. |
