Colour in Shadowby mocabelaComment: Very nice lighting. I love the shadows. The way her glasses are tilted has the frame cut right through the eye. Her eyes are beautiful. It is a shames that the glasses obscure them. |

The Guysby jenesisComment: Cool angle and great smiles. I love how close their faces are, and the vertical composition really enhances the closeness. I would have cropped a little off the bottom, so that the little boy's hand is not so obviously cut off. If the light would have allowed it, stopping down would have allowed for a little more DOF so that Dad's beard was more in focus. Very cute! 8 from me. |

Marissaby dsa157Comment: Very nice color and tones in your setting. Great use of windowlight for a 'studio' portrait. I love contrast of the little girl in the big chair. And her arms around her knees is perfect for the feeling of the shot. A minor nitpick - it would be better with a shirt that blends into the colors of the wall and florr and chair. The cool purple sleeves stand out against all the warm tones. 7 from me. |

Blue Eyesby shankswareComment: Beuatiful blue eyes. The skin is a little too soft for my taste, but that is a personal preference. I think I would prefer it short lit (with the main light on the side of the face away from the camera). I like the composition, although I might have left a little more room below her, showing a little more of her shoulders. Very nicely done and a lovely model. |

Into The Mistby Little KingComment: Very *er* suggestive crop and light placement. If that is what you were going for, you definitely acheived it. I like the lines and the composition very much. |

Future Male Modelby espy2Comment: Great eye contact and 'model stare' and an adorable little boy. I think it would have been better with more room below him, showing a little more of his shoulders. The one finger looks a little disembodied without seeing more of his hand. Very nice lighting. |

Using the Pool for Children Portraitsby moonjeongComment: While you might get voted lower for not being a 'studio' portrait, I reallylike it. I love the blue of the water. It makes her face really stand out. Great eye contact (and an adorable little girl1). I would have cropped more off the top(maybe including some off the top of her head). It would bring her eyes up higher in the frame, and eliminate the distracting line coming out of the back of her head. |

Meninaby anthonyczajaComment: Beautiful. I love her pose and her model stare. I love the lines of her arms. I would tone down the hot spot on her left arm, especially her elbow and shoulder; they distract from her face. The one big earring is also distracting. 7 from me. |

Are you being served?by MajankaComment: I love the angle, tilt and perspective on this shot. Very cool and fun. The lighting and white backdrop are very well done as well. The only thing that detracts for me is the black tray/light yellow shirt/black apron. My eye sees the tray first, and then down to the apron and misses his face. Regardless, this is one of my favorites. 8 from me. |

Clementineby iraklyComment: I wish there were more detail in the shadows. Her head seems disconnected from her body here. If there is any detail in the lines of her neck, I can't see it on my monitor, and I have been doing well viewing so far in this challenge. I like the lighting on her face and, considered seperately, the lighting along her side. Her forehead is the biggest/brightest thing in the composition, and it draw attention up and out of the frame (although I realize in basic editing burning that down is not an option). I love the lines of her arm, hip, breast. The two subjects - her face and her curves - seem to compete with each other here. As if they really belong in two seperate images. |
