She works hard for the money!by mluComment: Haha. I like the concept and capture of the dancer. Compositionally the subjects seems a bit crowded on the left side with empty space on the right. |

iterationsby skewsmeComment: I enjoyed this image, but the whole scene seems a bit soft. I wasn't sure where the focal point was. |

The Sentryby markwileyComment: I like this. Great dimensions, nicely blurred city in the background. I also like the strong shadow on woody. Lighting is a bit boring, but still great shot. |

The Conversationby ColeyComment: *Greetings from the Critique Club*
This was a 10 from me during the challenge. I just loved this shot and thought it was brilliant.
Compositionally I think this works well. The subject takes up much of the screen, and the big shadows central to the image seems well placed. The 'grassy' area on the right of the image is quite dark and for me doesn't add much to the image, so for a non-shadow challenge that area might have been more distracting.
I am not sure how to interpret the image on its technical merits. The people don't seem super sharp, but the focus probably was on the shadows on the ground which is right for the challenge. There aren't a lot of colors, so it's hard to tell how accurate the colors are, and there are some deep shadows - but those were integral to the challenge.
This was a perfect for the challenge entered IMHO. Congratulations on the great score and the great finish.

Lehigh Meets The Delawareby JakeKurdsjukComment: *Greetings from the Critique Club*
Gorgeous image IMHO. Compositionally I love the seeing the bridge reflection, and the sort of gradient of tree building from few trees and prominent bridge on the right to more trees and disappearing bridge on the left I found very pleasing. I love the wispiness of the clouds. The trees almost come off with an HDR processed feel - which I think works well here.
Technically I also think this image is very good. I love the colors of your greens and blue. I'm not finding anything that I would change.
Your image certainly met the challenge. The only reason I can see it might not have scored higher is that many of the top scorers in the challenge had a lot of drama, colorwise/tone wise, in the image. Your blue appears quite smooth. I would be curious how this shot would look in B&W, I wonder if the some of the dynamic range would have stood out more in B&W.
But I still think you have a lovely shot. I can see this hanging as art.

FOREIGN HYBRIDSby MadMan2kComment: Effective propaganda. I'm not sure I love the font size change in 'foreign 'hybrids', but your message works for me. |
