I liked a lot your challenge entry, this one was also excellent, with the same qualities: not only the good capture of a bird, but nice graphical elements in the background (here) or in the foreground (your entry, probably more original and unexpected)

Globally more attractive shot than the first edit, the light emphasizes the bench here.
I don't think you could do better with a single shot and the Brussel's sky :)
With several exposures blended in Photomatix or PS, something more dramatic was probably possible.
I really enjoyed some of the Brussel's shot (and others...) in your portfolio.

The deliberate choice for a very dark processing is excellent, it changes a (probably) just decent image into something strong, moody, near abstract in the sky.
