Great mood, interesting composition and lighting. Is it a portrait though?

Interesting statistic: your 109th place shot got more 9's and 10's than my 19th place shot. It's a pity that most voters could not accept that this *is* a take on the theme, albeit an off-beat (and very funny) one.

A very literal DPC community is a very dull DPC community.

Made me laugh! Great capture of the child's expression, and choice of perspective highlighting the size of the skates. I might have cropped it a little closer to the subject, but otherwise it's a good shot that illustrates your resolution well.

I like the dark mood. Subject is too dark and distant for me to distinguish.

Colourful, nicely lit and composed. Good luck with your resolution!

I like your resolution, and this certainly illustrates it. Main problem are distractions created by your lighting. The on-camera flash created a very hot foreground, an unevenly lit background, and an unwanted shadows including the one behind your subject book. Natural lighting might have worked better.

Excellent colouring, light, contrast, texture. We scuba divers prefer deeper water though :) so perhaps not the ideal image for expressing your resolution.

Technically and artistically excellent. Creative expression of theme. A tad literal and pandering for my taste though.

Technically and creatively excellent. I like the solitary splash of colour and how the umbrella frame mirrors the shape of the starfish. Clever and engaging expression of the theme.

Wow. Striking, provocative, haunting image. Excellent tones. Great composition and choice of DoF. Were it not for the unfortunate horizontal line across the top, it would be a 10 instead of a 9 from me. This image may stike different chords in others, but good art will always make an impact. Bravo.
