03 (Original) - Snow

Snow and wind can have a wonderful effect. Well captured, and a good choice to make a BW image from it. I cannot judge the scale of what I'm looking at, but when I took pictures this week of the snow (using a 100mm macro, so similar to what you used) I was amazed to discover individual snowflakes just like the textbooks show them.

This is definitely a "foreground" texture. The high contrast, which seems to be emphasized by what looks like haloing (e.g. around the pods) is a bit much for me.

Love the light on the seal, the way the highlight separates it from the rocks. The seal seems to be asking the gull, maybe for a drink.

What you see in an abstract depends a lot on yourself. At first I saw a peaceful composition as others did, but at a second view it looks all dark and threatening. Wonder what that says about me ...

Watering Hole

I never thought that insects needed drinking, until one day I saved a beetle by giving it just a single drop of water after which he quickly recovered and flew away. I was most amazed to see that happen! The bees in the shot have fund their watering hole, clearly.

02/52 - make up a story

Interesting viewpoint you have chose to capture a very artsy scene - looks like a photography exhibition. Did you find any inspiration, or did you perhaps have work on display? TheWB is a little warm, but you may have done thtis on purpose, since it does fit the image nicely.

You wish! But then, I'm a cat person so what do I know? On your picture I like the expression, and quite interestingly this a photograph in which you're not shooting down on Westie, but rather he is looking up. The gray expanse on the side does not add much - have you tried to crop it as a portrait?
