The muffin survives...by vamudhaComment: Fun shot aesthetically, but technically the shot isn't focused very sharply, and is extremely grainy.
Next time try a tripod, and maybe frame it with a little more interest. |

Earth, Waste and Fireby ragoutoutouComment: Technically a nice shot, but I'm honestly not seeing how it meets the challenge. I guess those are garbage boxes?
Or are you trying to imply the steam from the stacks is garbage?
I'll give it better marks because it's a technically good image. |

Stack'em highby mitalapoComment: This one stands out among the crushed can images to me. They are more than just crushed cans, they have interest due to the brown spotting that has been transferred to them (I assume not rust) from the crushing machine.
Pretty cool. |

Guilt In The Back Garden?by mc77Comment: I feel like there's more to the story here. My eye wants to focus on the stuff in the background to make sense of this image.
Interesting perspective... curious what this scene actually is. Almost looks like garbage, but at the same time, looks like a rock is the main focal point. Cheers. |

Nature against litterby RUEDISCHMUTZComment: I like this one... like nature is fighting back against the garbage. Good story, good composition. Even looks like a little vignetting due to the crop. Right amount of DOF too. |

Compost Heapby PetRockComment: Nice shot. I can appreciate the high-tones here. It really brings the table and the peels together and unifies the picture.
Would have been interesting to try it without the peeler. The peels and the table itself are interesting enough that they could have worked together.
I like that the table lines are not in-line with the photo, adds interest. |

Escape From Turnings Islandby mefnjComment: You did a good job making this look like a green screen or something. I'm guessing you used a very small aperture to have relatively no depth of field. I think that's the thing this might be missing... depth of field? It has a strange 3D look that tricks the eye. Looks like the island is floating more than sitting on the table.
Good luck! |

Shelledby parrotheadComment: Very artsy take on the garbage challenge. Technically it's there.
Doesn't really evoke a lot of emotion though. Feels maybe a bit too planned to me personally. It does makes me wonder what the hole is that the picture was taken through. Does a good job focusing on the subject. |

some days are diamondsby ubiqueComment: I think I understand what your take is here... that it's human trash or garbage. Not exactly meeting the challenge criteria... but interesting.
Might be good for B&W, might be worth over-exposing the majority of the shot to get more detail in the dark pigmented face. |
