Yes it was. I learned so much. Always liked snakes just had a problem with the venomous ones :-). When you learn how to handle them you loose the "fear" (not the respect - always respect them!)

Thank you so much for this feedback - it helps. I just don't seem to get the shutter speed up as much as I would like to :-(. This was a very unique opportunity for me to take these snakes and it took a while to have the guts to be close enough ;-). I was thinking with the f/18 I would have a better chance of having her in focus. Of course that pushed my shutter down ...

Running the danger of being pedantic, this is not quite true.
The flower is an Alstromeria (looks like Alstromeria aurea) and has its own "family", Alstromeriaceae. Lilies are a different family. Of course in common language the above flower is also refered to as Peruvian Lily, just to confuse everyone :-) (never mind that the plant originated in Bolivia and Chile .. ). ... probably far more than anybody here wanted to know ;-).

Whatever family it belongs to doesn't change the fact that the picture is *gorgeous*. Absolutely love it.

Cool ...
So this is all done PP? 3 single shots and you "merge" them as layers?
I once got a similar looking shot (single shot) from window reflections and mirrors that were in the display window (totally different objects of course, but the "look" was similarly surreal. I love this type of photography

I love the colours, and also the "shadow/mirror image" of the twig behind it. I think that workd really well.

This is stunning. What great post production work. I think it would look amazing if you printed it on canvas.
