African Olive Pigeon (PAW 11/52)by HarveyGComment: Very nice capture Harvey. Could be used as an ID type photograph.
I think the de-noise worked well.
Personally I would like to see it a bit crisper, have you tried the "Sharpen I" in Topaz?
Also the black in the tail and left wing is very dark (no detail). I am sure you shot RAW? can't you lift the shadows a bit?
Sorry, I probably sound overly critical. I hear a lot of judges at the local club comment on bird photographs and have become very "alert" (not that I shoot birds myself ... always easier to comment than do yourself, I know).
If you ever feel the need to shoot some more of these come and visit. We have several resident ones here on the property.

danse macabre.2_0248by mariucaComment: You did a fabulous job on the cloning. Got to love "photoshop" :-).
Just one minor detail, if I may. The very white leaf is the only one that stands out quite so obvious. Hence it is fairly easy to pick up a "pattern" in the BG, even if you did not know that you have edited it. I would tone down that leaf considerably. You seem to have darkened the other leaves around it, but to my eye its the white one that gives you away. |

Pied Kingfisher (PAW 9/52)by HarveyGComment: Very nice Harvey. The eye and face is spot on.
I like the BG a lot. Just that little bit of variation in colour really does it for me. And looking at detail, the small lichen on the branch is a nice touch too :-).
You should be really pleased with this one. |

wash over the rocksby AbraComment: This is great. My hand is twitching to touch the water (its probably freezing cold :-))
The tufts of "algae" almost look like trees and the whole thing could be a tsunami wave crashing onto land.
... looked at it some more, really, really like this |

reedsby AbraComment: I like this a lot. Love the colours and the movement. But I also see a spider ... and I don't "do" spiders :-) |

Santa Cruz Islandby GermaineComment: Have you tried making either the sky or the water a little lighter to get a 3-tone effect? I understand you may have wanted to show the similarity between sky and water on purpose, for me its just a lot of very similar grey. But I realise this is just me personally. |

Well Red...by thrumyiisComment: This does look very natural and the glass is lovely. Just curious, did you turn the bottle 1/2 way on purpose? If so, why?
A few changes and you may have something for the wabi sabi challenge :-) |
