+-70cm from screen. look cross eyed until middle picture is seen. Relax and enjoy 3Dby RUEDISCHMUTZComment: Many thanks to everybody who tried to see my 3D.
I know not everybody will be able to do it. So I expected the score I eventually ended up. No problem, I have been greatly compensated by the comments I received. It was worth the low score. Special the person who saw “god” in my picture. My wife and I had great fun to read all of them.
And now how I’ve done it. Probably most of you have done similar things, but for the few who don’t know.
First I made a small sliding platform on the tripod. Take 2 photos, moving the camera on my platform. Horizontal camera movement in this case was about 5 cm. The rule is, the closer the main object the less the move. Important is, to point the camera in exactly the same direction.
Then cut away anything not needed in both pictures. Making sure the edge is the same in 3D view.
Place next to each other and voila, you have a 3D picture.
Many thanks and happy squinting.

Tube Dudeby JulietNNComment: Well Juliet, I am so sorry for you DQ, but then on the other hand I am elated to get the blue. Nevertheless you have the knowledge, that yours was the best photo. Not so long ago I had my blue DQ, because of a silly and totally unnecessary processing fault.
I guess this is how one learns to be more careful with details. Keep it up and we will meet again. Ruedi

A Bright Spot in the Stormby sjhulsComment: Well done and congratulation for your ribbon. A stunning photo and the mood is captured perfectly. And yet I have a huge but ……….. my eye does not rest on this photo anywhere. (as requested in the description) It keeps going from the umbrella to the mountains to the clouds to the lines on the ground. Maybe I am too critical, definitively not jealous. Please forgive me Jennifer, that’s how I see it. |

At the bottom of our gardenby RUEDISCHMUTZComment: Many thanks to all the DPC community.
In our small garden here in Breda, Holland, my wife and I are blessed with a very active wild life.
We have many different birds, 2 or 3 mice families, in summer a toad und his offsprings and unfortunately also a nuisance mole.
But back to the mice. They are extremely cute and fortunately the do not come into the house. When they have babies (we expect it will happen soon) then they are too many of them, I have developed a perfect “relocation” system. I catch them alive, with no harm done, and bring them to the nearest forest.
They eat happily from our bird feeder and you can be as close as 1 meter. We will not harm them and they got to trust us.
So making this photo was rather easy. They almost seem to pose and watch what I was doing. That I got two of them at the same time was a bonus.
This would also work well with the next challenge, “focal point”, but I guess it is too soon to have a similar photo again.

Evening sun and old windmillsby RUEDISCHMUTZComment: Thanks a lot to all my DPC friends. After the recent DQ of my first blue ( due to a silly and unnecessary processing mistake, and I am still smoking about it) I am extremely delighted to get my blue with this picture now. (I am holding my breath until my original is being confirmed, but I made sure not to violate any rules.)
On Saturday, the 1st January I noticed on the Dutch weather forecast, that the traditional overcast sky should be clearing briefly and I asked my wife and 2 friends to visit Kinderdijk ( //www.kinderdijk.com/ ) with its old windmills. I was not disappointed. The sun was out for only about 1 hr and luckily I was there to take advantage of it.
Thanks again to all of you and let’s continue to have lots of fun. Message edited by author 2011-01-13 02:27:07. |

Layers of Colorby crikComment: I like it. Quite a bit of work. Why did you cut the ball on the left ? And in advanced editing, you could have made the background more even (white). |

Wavesby mqnaufalComment: O yes. My only criticism is, I would have cut off the top 1/4. Showing 6 layers only. Try it. |

Layerd rockby cathysappComment: Perfect object, yet, this is a "normal" photo. If you want to get into the (DPC) ranks, you need to look for the special moment. Sunrise or sunset or night photo. Something dramatic. I know it is not easy, but it can be done. It just takes time and needs that extra effort. I give you a 6 "only". PS... like the face looking to the right |
