it's nice as an artistic piece but it just doesn't sit well with me in terms of this challenge. there is far too much silhouette going on here, and we have a dedicated challenge for that coming in 2 days. i think this would score much better there than it will here from me.

great job with this.
exposed subjects, great drama in the sky and reflected in the water. a 7 from me.

dramatic sky is great and the long exposure on the water is fun here.
can tell it's been processed, but doesn't feel overcooked.
8 from me, and expect this to top10

dramatic sky is fun, but silhouettes are next challenge. it's very possible to still get exposed landscape in a dusk/dawn shot.
we all knew silhouettes was on the heels of this challenge, scores will likely reflect that. i know you're only getting a 5 from me as a result

Silhouettes are next on the block. see you in 2 days.
otherwise the image feels rather flat, nothing to draw me in or make me want to stay on the page after making up my mind what i'm scoring you and telling you that you're getting a 5

the cove, you say.
as much as i want to love this image (purple being my favorite color and dramatic skies being one of the things i love seeing the most in pictures), this just feels very off to me. i do not recall ever witnessing a purple sunset before, so i'm having a hard job mentally not thinking of this as being over processed.
the bottom 20% (roughly) of the image is also taking away from it in my opinion, and i can live with the silhouette in this as you have not made it a major component of the image.

i actually google'd "purple sunset" and found a striking number of images...now you have given me something new to look for, i must experience one of these myself somewhere.
and after all of that, i'm giving you an 8.

i love the color reflecting in the water, it, along with the dramatic cloud, are the two best things going for this image.
after seeing the sprinklers going on the other holes there, i just have to ask, did someone suggest taking a shot from the "9th at 9"?

a par5 bogey from me

oh the silhouettes, always the silhouettes.
sunrise/sunset do not need to be silhouettes, you can get some really breathtaking scenes with exposed landscape...
this is definitely a nice scene to see the sun rise over, but i'm afraid i'm going to have to stick you with a 5 because silhouettes are coming up next (and again after that in fact!)

tad dark, but at least it's not a silhouette.
it does look a tad overcooked/pixelated in the sky, and too dark in the corners, almost like a very fine vignette was used that, in my opinion, shouldn't have been.

thats a very interesting cloud you captured there... looks like the displacement of someone doing a belly flop, which has me smiling at the thought of belly flopping into a cloud to make it go all wonky like that.
the pinkish/purple tones seem out of place to me, but overall the lighting feels very natural, so i'll go with the fact that this is how it looked in person.
thank you for still keeping your foreground exposed and not a black void.
a 6 from me.
