A Tutorial by Samantha_TComment: Harsh!
Skin smoothing, tone shifting I see; adding make-up I do not see.
There are no shadings present in the after that are not there in the before (emphasised or toned down some, but not created from nothing).
wait, if they mean the dark mascara-like like, that already exists, she is wearing make-up, it just may not have been 100% completely across the eye, but it was there. mon dieu, this sucks! Message edited by author 2014-12-02 15:12:44. |

A Tutorial by Samantha_TComment: I was really hoping to see the tutorial process in your notes based on the title.
I think the most effective way of doing this tutorial would be a series of "before/during/after" screenshot images with notes, hosted in the "how did they do that" section of the site.
As for the image, I scored it an 8 and think it's a great example of what can be done in the advanced rule set. |

Remember Usby RyanWComment: Thanks.
This, actually, was taken just after the Rememberence Day (Veterans Day) service here in Ottawa 2 years ago, and this is the exact same location as the shooting of the solider 3 weeks ago - ironically the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. As this is THE place for services in all of Canada, it is impossible to isolate the soldiers without some background distractions. The building with the green roof in back is the Parliament building (equivalent of the White House, for those who may not know, in that it is the center for government in Canada, where the head of state works), and I wish I knew more about who these men are, they just happened to be standing in this location looking off into the distance a bit (at the crowd dispersing) when I asked if I could take their picture.
As evidenced by their berets, they are from two separate companies, which I do not know what their jobs are, but given their age and their dedication to be here at the memorial on this day, they are just starting a career that puts their life on the line to make sure the rest of us are able to live knowing we are protected, and the very least we can do is honor them and remember that they do this without us thanking them, or in the vast majority of cases, even knowing who they are, what dreams they have, and what dreams they have seen passed up.
