A Gentle Delugeby mefnjComment: Scored this much higher than similar pics in this challenge. To me the difference maker is the immediate feeling you get from this. Deconstructing it, I like how left side of the frame is light and the right side is dark. It almost looks like a yin-yang symbol. Putting the dark stones on the lighter side and using a stack of lighter stones to put on the dark part of the reflection would have been really cool (to run with that idea). 8 from me, def one of my favorites. |

Invalides vers 5hby OzComment: I really enjoyed this one. I do think though, if you were to remove the puddles, then the eye can naturally follow the line all the way up to the beautiful structure. The way it is now, my eye starts at the bottom middle, then on the way up stops and looks at the puddles because it stands out so much. With that and a little less noise in the sky, I would have given it a 9, and picked it as my winner. Amazing photograph regardless, 7 from me. |

watching fireworks at memorial hallby klkitchensComment: This is such a cool capture. Although not technically great (contrast, focus, tones) an absolutely brilliant photograph. I gave this a 7 and think it was a breath of fresh air seeing some human emotion in the challenge! |

DAMBUSTERSby GilesComment: The detail in the grass seems a bit lacking and the haloing on the left tower seems more prominent than the right one (maybe it's just the darker clouds behind it). But the concept of this is just awesome! I still scored it a 7 and hope it does really well! |

Forgottenby Trumpeteer4Comment: This doesn't seem like it's going to score as well as I'd like, but it is one of my favorites. I could sit and name 100 reasons why I love it but I'll stick with these: The varying color of the brick (looks like HDR) is not overdone, the greens taking over the picture on the left with the red brick being on the right really gives it a "Nature vs Man Made" feel, the vignetting has done it's job very well and doesn't "stand out", and the amount that the door is open is just perfect... if it's open any more it creates an extra unflattering line.
Overall my highest scored in this challenge. I REALLY hope it gets tt. |

mountains over a riverby LanndonKaneComment: Came back and bumped the score up to an 8. This image separates itself from the 7s with it's clean lines, gorgeous use of shadows, and cool tones. (looks like a preset I made in SilverFX) Great decision keeping the sky dead black to accentuate the sharp lines. Well done. |
