this leaves me very curious as to his surroundings. dpc likes to see the details though, and not the big picture, so your choice was probably very sound. your shadow boost feels a bit excessive. nice job of separating him from the background. It still looks a bit sketchy though around his hands and face, as if it was spot blurred, but i know you couldn't have done that ;)

i like how the black bg streaks compliment the foregroud. the placement of the flower at the top center feels odd. your focus is a bit soft and i don't feel it enhances the image with it's current composition
