i like how you have captured determination in his face...most likely from getting ready to take off. I wish you would have been able to call this pick "Determined" and gotten away with it on this site. Actually "Determined to catch that fish" might have worked. the focus is a bit soft, the colors are a bit washed out. i'm not a big fan of those vertical reflections. i would have tried to focus on the face somehow-5

nice action capture. a couple of steps to the left if possible to separate them (the beak from the wing) a bit might have helped. i like how the pattern of the palm trees match their feathers, but in this case i would have rather been closer to their faces-5

i like the orange reflections balance of the orange in the birds, i wish it wasn't so close to the end of the frame. the yellow flower and the plant between them are a bit distracting.-5

great focus. perhaps a straight on shot would have allowed you to show more of the base without the sill being skewed. unfortunately i don't find the subject very compelling. perhaps a more artistic crop closer in might have helped, or maybe just made the whole thing confusing-5

i like the use of flash against a bright background. I wish the sky background coverd the bird and the tree was more off to the left. my eye wants to go to that dead space, so i guess i would have cropped closer to the wing.-6

On the prey

really like the position of the head. perhaps oversharpened a bit on the wing tip and face. just seems odd, since it kind of looks like an owl and it's against a daylit sky. I guess it's supposed to be a hawk. i guess i should have studied at the aviary before this challenge. i guess i'll give you a 6. i still wish there was a cloud in the empty part of the screen.
