I wonder if a slower shutter speed to increase the sense of movement would work, or if, on the other hand, freezing the motion entirely would make a nice contrast between the hovering helicopter and the blown up sand.

Thanks for the comment, but I am thoroughly confused. Slower OR faster, just not my choice of 1/320...
Doesn't really address what topic? The helicopter is horizontal the frame is vertical...
Not a movement picture? the dust is moving the blades are moving, even the craft is moving.

I am sorry, but it just seems like a bunch of contradictions and I don't know which way to go...
