Upside-Down (Two Meters Away)by GeneralEComment: During the challenge, I gave you a 5.
For me, the negative space is what's interesting about this shot, but I don't think it's being portrayed in an interesting (graphic) way. I think I would have liked to have seen the crop to be rotated so that the stem was vertical, or angled more intentionally/dramatically. (30-45 degrees). As it sits now, it seems like attention was given to exposure and color, but the composition seems to be a bit less than considered. |

johannaby krukvaextComment: I love this shot!
I didn't get a chance to vote, but I would have given this an 8. Lighting is spot on, great model, and snapped at just the right moment. It really captures motion and energy.
on the negatives, it seems a bit on the dark side on a few details (clothing), and could use just a hair more separation from the background (upper left- hair & dark area merge a bit) |

Young and Beautifulby FocusPointComment: Lighting is good and the textures are nice. It feels a little bit less than sharp to me, I probably would have given it a 5-6. I'm not a big fan of the black background being used to isolate the flower, it feels unnatural and makes the mood borderline dark. |

Nature's Gloryby briantammyComment: I like the water bottle there, specifically that it shows civilization in an otherwise serene shot. |

Eastern Phoebeby jjstager2Comment: that is quite possibly the ugliest thing I've ever seen. I find the mouth to be intriguing, it's definitely not an angle you see very often.
my biggest irk here is the crop of the rear birds beak. 6 |

Tea, Melon, Milk, Water & an Appleby kenskidComment: I really enjoyed this shot, and the creativity and prep work that went into it. I voted it a 7. For me what kept the score from being a bit higher is that the yellowish hue in the fridge is less than attractive. A more pure/whiter color would have made things look a little more crisp. I also wish the crop was a bit more symmetrical, maybe by cropping the left side a bit.
the breathing room at the top is nice, and I like the items in the drawer, they help to anchor the laptop to the fridge. |
