Chrysalis Fungiby amonteforteComment: I've seen this fungus a lot but never have I seen such a purple leaf! I love how the veins show. I would actually like to see a close up of it, or the fungus. They compete with each other for attention To capture the detail on the leaf the fungus is a little over exposed in places.
Overall nice. |

Frozen in the Mudby inspzilComment: Very interesting subject you've got here. The contrast could be boosted a bit to bring out the form and relief I think. I know this is a challenging image to capture and I like it...just wondering about that contrast. Nice job. |

Air Conditioningby spillerComment: It's interesting that you captured both texture and motion here. The subject is a common object and one that may be overlooked by most, but your eyes found it and you captured it well.
The crop is a little too tight. The bottom lamp is too close to the edge of the frame, and 2 of the pull cords are cut off. It's not a major issue but detracts.
Overall good job.

Mary Lee's Corvetteby kendallComment: Just looking at her hair I can see motion right away. The lighting is good, and exposed well for the conditions. I like the expression on both faces. You definetly captured a moment in motion. Composition is good. Overall good job! |

Waves of my heartby monrfComment: Greetings! I'm part of the critique club and was assigned to your picture. We are all learning to critique in a helpful manner, since we are all here to learn.
The waves in the picture obviously meet the challenge of motion. The coloring, being grey, makes it a moody scene. That is fine. Not all images should be sunshine and roses.
Your perspective is interesting...looking from the water to the city. The horizon, however, looks unnatural at the tilt. I've had that problem a lot. What I end up doing is rotating in my image-editing program. Then I crop out the excess. If you'd like to see what I mean, I'll show you an example using your picture.
This image really has potential with very little editing needed to bring up a notch.
I hope you find this helpful.
Sincerely,
Grayce aka Gracious |
