King of the Hillby DougPazComment: Critique Club Comment by Grayce M. Dillon aka Gracious
The color of the sky is phenominal and contrasts beautifully with the warm-colored landscape. The single tree on the horizon is nicely framed by the foreground branches, which also adds depth.
having the whole image so centered makes it a little stagnant and predictable, but overall it is a lovely image and I like it.
I'd reconsider using a blue border. Black or white border would be better.

I like this very much. Very moody...cold, isolation, barren. Being bright causes the contrast of the tree to be silhouetted...very nice.
The composition could be improved with a simple change of perspective. The barn being centered is not the most appealing. But I do like the way the branches frame the barn on one side.
You show several dimensions here...foreground grasses, tree, field, barn, more grasses, horizon, sky. Nice. |

Long Hill Homeby justineComment: Looks like a delightful road. I can almost feel the coast dowwwwwwwwwwwn....weeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
All the greenery is very appealing. Darkened up a bit would bring those greens out even more.
The perspective is really good. Like how the road veers off to (our) right.
Focus could be a little sharper.
Nice image. |

Cable Guy Epitaphby lionelmComment: Critique Club Comment by Grayce M. Dillon aka Gracious
Cute idea! Color is brilliant, especially against the darak background, and the angle works real well.
Without the title, it wouldn't be funny. There isn't a whole lot to draw me in, since it mainly is lacking a creative artistic point. I hope this all makes sense.
The potential is good. Bury a person in sand, and post this above him, or perhaps over a tombstone. It could be some dark humour. |

Battle of the elementsby AzrifelComment: Critique Club Comment by Grayce M. Dillon aka Gracious
I love the composition. Everything is placed just right. The color of the sky is a definite plus.
One of my favorite aspects is the wonderful lighting on the windmill.
I like that you didn't crop out the vegetation in the right corner. First it adds dimension, and also echoes the color of the mill.
The diagonal lines work quite well and add appeal, especially the fence leading to the mill.
Several textures in here at work together too. eg: ice, vegetation, windmill, water.
Good use of opposites...eg warm sky, cold landscape.
OVer all a very pleasing image. Good work! |

Hard Worker?by jimmyn4Comment:
Yeah...lol I bet that is "Hard at work" for lots of people. This meets the challenge well and the colors work well together.
The focus is a little soft, but it's not easy to focus on yourself...u can't be in two places at the same time.
Overall, this idea is good, and has potential. I'd recommend using a model other than yourself, so you can concentrate on composition and focus. Message edited by HBunch - CC status removed. |

Symphony in 'Meow Major'by magnetic9999Comment: CC comment by Grayce aka Gracious
Sometimes soft focus is fine. It is very difficult with cats, to get crisp action shots. A crisper focus would have been better but so what! Considering all the work you put into this, you did a fine job. You certainly pulled off the idea.
Your perspective is nice, and everything is composed well. What makes the whole image believable, is that a key is depressed. That really works!
The pink of her ears, and the wood tones, add warmth to the picture.
Over all, I like it. |
