Yellow patternsby erikjohndaleComment: Greetings from the Critique Club
This would easily fit into either of this weeks two challenges.
The repititous pattern is very interesting and appealing.
I like the way the light and shadows contrast, emphasizing the design. The colors are not real bright, but that's fine. Subtlity is nice too.
Perhaps the crop is a little tight. A little space between the bows and the edge of the picture would be better, I think.
Over all a nice picture.

You did a fantastic job of exposing here, preventing any glare or burnout on the flower. That isn't easy with a white subject, but you managed it well.
I like the contrast against the background, and the bg is also nice and natural. It's a little distracting toward the top with the branches and sky, and a slight change in perspective could probably have corrected it. That's not a major issue, since it is a natural scene as opposed to a set up.
Overall a very lovely image.

OK, The Eiffel tower picture is done, lets go to champs-elysées .....by PingupinguComment: Critique CLub Comment by Grayce
As has been suggested already, this is a photojournalistic type of picture. There is a story to be told here.
The surroundings are good and work well, but if you had slightly repositioned yourself you wouldn't have the Obelisque coming out of the person's head. These are important details we need to watch for as photographers. We've all done it though.
I'm certain this would have scored higher if it was light enough to see some detail on the faces of the people.
I don't know if the car is parked or moving, it would be a little better without it. Of course if it's parked the only option you'd have is to reposition yourself.
I hope these comments help.

Right off the bat I want to say I love this image. Funny, it would fit in either of this weeks 2 challenges.
The color here is vivid, and vivacious. Just enough green to accent the yellow.
Repetition of pattern is just beautiful and the composition is good.
You've exposed everything perfectly.
The focus is a little soft, and some really like that. My personal taste would be for a little sharper focus, but that's strictly up to the artist.
There is no graininess, or digital noise...good job!
Overall this is a terrific image. You should be proud of it, and as others have said, "I'd hang it on my wall."
Regards,
Grayce |
