I Denied Him!by GraciousComment: I based this image on the story in the Bible when Peter denied Jesus three times. He never thought he would, but Jesus had prophesied that he would. I can imagine the despair he felt, when he realized he had indeed denied him.
I cut out a cross from cardboard, and used a carving of a person in a position that, to me, looked humbled, and sorry.
I set this up on my table top with a white board as a background. I used a clamp on lamp and put red cellophane in front of it. (the wrapping from a box of valentine candy. I set my camera on a tripod, and shot a few rounds. |

Winter Foliageby karmatComment: Critique Club Comments by Grayce
I like this very much. Pine cones always appeal to me and you did a nice job capturing this image.
The composition is good, and it's nice you didn't center the pine cones. The way you cropped works well, that you included some pine needles in focus and the diagonal branches leading the eye to the cones.
It's a simple picture, which adds to the appeal. The little bit of green makes it fresh and refreshing. There is a hint of texture on the branches. That's nice.
There is nothing I don't like here, except maybe brighten the pine cones a little, but it is acceptable. So what more can I say? Good job!

Goodbye world.by GeocideComment: Comments from Grayce for the Critique Club
This is a good composition. The strong diagonal forming from the paper and arm leads the eye right to the pills. From the other direction, the pill bottle does the same thing. Very good use of diagonals on both counts.
The exposure is very good, except for the glare of the flame. It's over-exposed, which is a pity, because the candle isn't even an important element to the picture. It COULD work but would need to be toned down.
This is an emotional theme and you did a good job of portraying that.
That little bright line up on top near the candle serves no purpose and is a distraction.
As others have mentioned, the pills definetly look like vitamins.
Overall this is an effective image, and fairly well done.
Best of luck in all your photographic endeavors.

Grayce |

more?by Pep VentosaComment: Strong graphical image. I don't necessarily see the despair, since death is a natural part of life, just part of the cycle. I mean I know death has the sting of separation from loved ones, but I think your real strength here is the lines, and pattern of the headstones. Good! |

Despair beyond repairby Dim7Comment: Yes....it saddens me to see houses deteriorate to the point that no one can use them. What a waste! |
