Curves n Lines by sekarmalathyComment: fits challenge perfectly. bizarre architecture indeed. However, border choice is not the best one. |

Let me show you round my house.by docjonnyComment: stunning scene. details on the granite entrance are so very crisp. But I believe the photo overall has been slightly oversharpened. And since this being advanced editing, IMO you could have cleaned up some of those patches visible on the house.
But, overall a very nice photo and surprised why this didn't do well. Message edited by author 2010-03-20 16:01:16. |

"Go ahead, make my play."by Yo_SpiffComment: Yes Steve. I believe that voters penalized you for the toy not being the main subject. However, I really love this shot, and technically its very good.

EASTER IS COMING SOONby kiwinickComment: IMO, you could have used a smaller aperture, may be a F/11 or more. Since you already have a lot of negative space and no distracting background (advantage of an indoor set-up photoshoot), you could have left all the eggs in focus. It would have broadened the subject as per your title. |

B 1stby raishComment: Two aspects had affected the rating for this photo:
one is the ample negative space. Not all viewers like the same and the moment you make an overload of that, some people tend to leave you low scores.
Second, I didn't understand the meaning of those 3 dimensional lines. Was it intentional or maybe small areas which was left out while making a light-tent? Whichever way, the same is not giving anything extra to the otherwise wonderful egg, and IMO could have been avoided. |

Hard At Workby RlivelifeComment: you have a very interesting subject in this photo. Fortunately you didn't commit the mistake which I did by not taking a photograph of a flower. However, in spite of the subject being terrific, this photo scored below 4.5
Couple of reasons why I believe:
It is difficult to understand what exactly is your main subject. Is it the ant/group of ants in their habitat or is it the flower which has been converted into a nest by the ants. Furthermore the DOF is shallow and hence not diluting your background from interfering on your subject. |

Elephantby Joker1114Comment: Nice photo of an elephant, and well post-processed. The vignette gives a special feeling to this photo.
However the photo is still lacking the richness which can almost always never be obtained when shot from a higher height (a plane different from where the subject actually is). This miniaturizes the subject although how big it is in real. *something which you can't help always*
Although the photo is rich in detail, I strongly believe that the trunk of the elephant shouldn't have been cropped off. |

GreenTomatoesby eaglebeckComment: you already know half the story here as already told by others - "better focus required"
I guess you went too close to the subject for the camera to properly focus.
The subject in my opinion again is not something where I would prefer a close up shot. Maybe yes if you had the option to cut and shoot indoor with no other distractions (like what you see as another stem with two other tomatoes I believe).
I would have used the wide side of my lens and suitably changing the composition that I can find some less distracting elements. It would have been ok, if it was a bunch of tomatoes rather than just 2 but less interesting.
I hope the above is taken in the right spirit. Keep shooting.
