Very nice use of B&W. Good sharp image and a sense of loneliness is magnified by the absense of an end to the stairs. The portion of the stairs on the bottom right (2 rungs and railing) is a bit distracting though. Maybe if you could have reached out just a tad farther to eliminate that, it could have been better. (not too far though, looks like a long way down)

I love the sense of serenity in this photograph. Seing this, alone doesn't seam like such a bad thing. Nice use of reflections.

The verticle layout works well with the trees. I especially like the way you used two trees to creat a natural border for the photo. I wonder if putting a person lying on the couch may have improved it or not. Hmm. Maybe not.

I like the sepia toning, it fits the image well. Overall, however, the image apears blurred and pixelated. Possibly due to overzooming.

Cute concept. If I may be so bold, I think it would have been better if you left the doll lying on the ground at the foot of the slide and zoomed out showing more of the playground. "Alone and forgotten". As it is, the hair on the doll makes it look like she is flying down the slide, hence, someone is playing with her.

Alone in the Wilderness

I was just in the forums trying to explain how 'alone' can be portrayed in a picture of a group and then I come across this photo. I just wish I can use it as an example. You have done exactly what I was describing. Very nice composition. But.... I think it would be nicer if it were brighter.
