Perhaps a bit to artsy for some here, but I think you did a wonderful job with this photo. The soft focus and the close crop work very well in portraying the sense of intimacy. My only objection is with the border. It is too bold and wide. It gives a rough edge to an otherwise soft moment.

I feel that this picture would have improved with more even diffused light (to avoid the shadows) and with a more uniform background. The white area behind the right flower is drawing away a lot of my attention.

I've been eying that tripod in the magazines for some time (let alone an L-series macro zoom lens) I love the way you interpreted the challenge and you really pulled it off well. The steamy background plays really well into the mood. The shadows on the Canon lens, however, are a bit of a distraction. Going back, I changed my mind about the shadows. They actually play well into the image. It gives a sense of hidden romance.

The message is strong, but the composition doesn't do it justice. The angled frame with the corner behind the man's head and the plant between his legs (hiding the cast?) are very distracting. Perhaps if the couple was centered underneath the picture frame, the position were swapped so that the cast was behind his wife, and the plant was either removed or well off to one side the image would have been stronger.
