Yuck! Perhaps you should have used real soup and added the words... the effect here is a bit gross, though I see that you needed the clear water to show the newsprint. The flash at the bottom of the bowl should perhaps be avoided next time.I think your background was very distracting, perhaps next time a white tablecloth or black counter could be used? Or any solid color really. The idea is good though.

I like this. It's a very strong, evocative picture, IMO. I don't like the border as much, but that's simply because it detracts a little bit of attention from the main focus. Nice job.

Thank you to those of you who looked and commented! I was a bit perturbed because the shoes are *not* dirty - that grey area is simply the coloration of the top. The sides are scuffed slightly, yes, but certainly the shoes are not as dirty as they seem to appear to some. I do have some sense of dignity! :)
