Autumn morningby pikytoComment: Gorgeous. Excellent composition considering how cliche this can sometimes be. The sky has an almost watercolor look to it...almost surreal. I would have liked to see less of the ocean in the frame and have the horizon a little lower. The sand is so dark, it doesn't help the image much. Perhaps with a lower "snails eye view", with some of the orange reflection in the sand would've been better. Still, it's an 8. Very nice. |

Opps, wrong tube!by cabaComment: Interesting idea. I wish it was lit a little more, um, clinically I guess (?). Something about it just seems off. I think I like the DOF, so that's not it. I definitely like the placement of your subject and how the tube in the background is out of focus, but still can be identified. Maybe I'm looking for more contrast in the toothbrush, something to make it pop a little bit. I give it a 7. |

Orange is the color of fashionby stevelenzComment: Great shot! I particularly like how the dual light source provides a symmetry to the shot. The bracelet, thong, and the fact that the shirt exposes the waist tell us about the woman in this shot and who she might be. The black background helps to keep the focus in the middle of the shot, but it might have been interesting to lighten it up a bit so we could make out her curves. Still, I really like this shot, technically. It's a 10 in my book. |

Orange Bouquetby eightiesComment: Too harsh post processing. Also, the lack of resolution in the image is distracting. |

Opposites by ivashComment: Georgeous. I could nitpick about a few things (line of reflection too close to middle of image, some white between orange and blue background), but they don't take away from the sexiness of this photo. Shaggadelic baby, yeah! |

car topby undieyatchComment: What can I say, I like it. The extreme cropping keeps out of view everything that is not important to showing us the subject. Still, the subject itself is not interesting enough to keep me looking for too long. It's so close to being abstract that the letters almost lose meaning, but the flirtation with that lost context keeps the image together. |

My favorite beverage and snack!by tolovemoonComment: Well chosen subject for the challenge, but poorly executed in my opinion. You need to get everything in focus and avoid overcropping and/or camera shake so that everything is crisp and clear. The can of soda probably could make the point of the image without the full glass next to it. Also, the point of view is too direct. Coming down at an angle of view on these subjects with a wider angle would have made the shot more interesting. |

Fading Awayby cpanaiotiComment: I love this picture. The DOF is right on. The spinning of the record is obvious and suggests the person who took the picture is enjoying some tunes worthy of an inspiring photograph. The perpendicular placement of the arm in the frame is great and helps keep my eye in the lower portion of the image due to it being completely in focus from left to right. The exposure could not be better. My favorite so far. 10. |

Day Glow Orange Flower: Normal saturation!by NeilComment: Lighting is very good on this flower, but perhaps not perfect. Where's the stem? I can make it out, but barely. It would have been cool to get the stem to go away entirely. Otherwise, it should be lit enough to show what it is. The soft focus is excellent and I like the transition of color from orange petal to green bud. Overall. it's a 7. Cheers! |

Palest Paletteby SolaireFluxComment: Lighting is too harsh. Not sure what the subject is nor do I understand what the mess of color on her tummy is suppose to represent. The cropping work is good, though, and I think this person posed in the same manner without the confusing orange/yellow gunk would make for a good composition, though not necessarily for this challenge. The rug/blanket underneath the person is distracting. |
