Sunkistby GringoComment: This image will not likely score very highly, which is a shame. It's so hard to pull off a good DOF with this kind of shot but you have done it. Also, the difficulty of getting a proper exposure in the harsh light of midday has been overcome adroitly. The ever-so-slight slant in the composition adds interest, while the blurry background prevents the abundance of flora from being overwhelming. Good work. |

Metal Birdby nsvillegasComment: This would have really been fantastic I think if the large post was cropped out of the picture and the "wings" placed in the lower corner of the frame. The sky is perfectly complement by the tone of the sculpture. A little over exposure in the middle of the wing actually makes this more interesting to me. I give it an 8. Cheers. |

sweet carrotby PowerShot73Comment: This is an example of photography 101 ignored. If you are going to ignore all the rules, you better have a good reason. First, don't center the subject in the frame. Second, light the subject properly to create a mood or to express an emotion. Third, well, don't photograph sweaty carrots made of icing and call it art...cuz it ain't. |

Adieu!by ndsComment: Orange? Not a bad picture, but it simply has not met the requirements of the challenge. Is the persons shirt orange? I can't tell on my monitor. I'll give it a 5 because it's a decent composition with overall good lighting and effect. If only those stairs were orange instead of blue! |

Sweet Orangeby dsrayComment: As I'm sure you are aware, the noise in this image is a deal killer. If it were shot with a lower ISO (or with less post processing), I'd have to give this a 9. As it is, its a 7. The composition and lighting of the subjects is really good. Now just get the technical parts right and you have a potential ribbon winner. |

Citrus Shadesby labudsComment: Fantastic. I'd love to see an explanation of how this was done. The orange on white is such an eye-pleasing combination of color. This could be in a print ad for oakley sunglasses and I wouldn't think twice as to whether a professional had their had in it's creation. Top notch. |

Navel Orangeby sherComment: Fantastic. I've always wanted to do this shot, but I have neither the talent for setting up such perfect lighting, nor the eye to know how close is too close. You've managed to capture an orange flower in this open challenge and do it without being cliche, do it creatively, and do it without resorting to unoriginal sponaneity. I only wish the center of the flower had a little more punch...more color. 9. |

Santa Fe Updraftby jperez1690Comment: Brilliant. Sometimes the subject just presents itself and sometimes, as in this photo, the photographer seeks it out with the deference and fortitude of a master. You have managed to combine two fantastically composed photographs into one without any great feat of technical ability, just a well-trained eye. 10, 10, 10, 10...plus one. |

Dahliaby trainComment: Some overexposed areas hurt this image and draw my eye away from the center of the flower. There's a lack of detail in the more interesting areas, though I think the depth of field is good. Perhaps stopped down 1 or 2 stops and a little fill flash would have helped. |
