Lightby posthumousComment: Somewhat melancholy and filled with lament. I like the lonely openness, the detachment, the looking back and the final realisation of solitude. The imagery of the shaken off ceilings that give freedom at the cost of a loss is really a coherent message throughout. It is a deep inner fear that is exposed or a dreaded reality. I've had dreams such as these, albeit under the effects of (legal) hallucinatory medication, but I never related them in a poem. Maybe I'm right off the mark, but it works for me. Thank you. |

Pairs of sortsby mitalapoComment: To paraphrase Francis Bacon...Some essays are to be tasted, others to be swallowed, and some few to be chewed and digested..... This, for me, to be the last. Thanks for the celebration of life. |

s00by mariucaComment: Such humour, you do live a wonderland of opportunity. Je ne sais pas and spontaneous mimicry are favourites. I agree with Clive that you have a fabulous eye that is constantly scanning for those defining moments of relationships. I envy your opportunity of situation as I do Henry's. Lovely work as usual. |

Where the Water Runs Slowby instepsComment: I always admire the way you combine human environments with geometry. You have a knack of the juxtaposition that expresses function and form, the practicalities of living in an organic but sophisticated social landscape. It displays the slow monochromic churning of life that is both enticing and sombre. A very intuitive and realistic look, well done. |

Canal 1by rooumComment: Clive, I love the mood you have created with the distorted reflections. I t reminds me of a real life version of The World's End movie in a kind of way, though I could be wrong. Paul is correct in remembering that we all have these people in our lives. Your essay makes me wonder if we ourselves are remembered as one of these characters rather than just an observer. Wonderful work meshing reality with your well honed craft. |

Vizsla gaze by daisydavidComment: Thank you everyone for the generous comments. The head crop was straight from camera so there was little I could do. I used a 60 x 90 softbox as keylight, face on, 45 degrees 1.5 metres above him with a Bowens GM500 Espirit Gemini strobe at 2/3 power. Rufus is a 7 year old retired Grand Champion of his breed (Hungarian Vizsla) and it is almost impossible not to take a good image of him. Thank you once again. |
