Libelluleby ewebComment: Great specimen! I have a really good image of a similar species myself. Unfortunately, I find this image lacking in tonal range and the critical focus is not on the EYES. Seems unsharp overall. |

Welcome to My Lairby MarkS224Comment: I've taken shots almost exactly like this a couple of years ago. Getting closer would have been more "intimate". One big problem: the challenge calls for INSECTS, and this is an ARACHNID. Don't try to act like you don't know the difference. |

Interrupting Dinnerby tfaustComment: Nice subject; bad lighting, bad focus (focus on the eyes), depth of field is too shallow. |

Grasshopperby ShannonComment: This image has a lot of noise (grainy-looking) and is very lacking in color fidelity (range of tonal values like the grey scale below). Composition-wise, the problem is the grasshopper is looking away from us; it's a butt-shot! Move around to the front of the grasshopper next time and shoot from a slightly lower angle. |

Grasshopperby GolferDDSComment: The critical focus should be on the EYES, but it ended up on rear end of the thorax. Looks like the image was sharpened to try and compensate. |

Smiling Dragonflyby DuneyComment: Looks very similar to some of the images that I have taken, but I would have shot different exposures also and this one would have gotten deleted due to the washed-out highlights. Better than average quality. |
