This among my top scoring entries. An appropriate evocation of the theme with an effective use of DOF (or selection PP blur?) to highlight the subject. Kudos.

This was among my top picks for this challenge.

I agree with FromDaRock about the feather as the defining feature. While I understand backdoorhippie's comment about the background, I found it to be an interesting part of my viewing. I first saw the background with an indistinct foregroung white object and assumed "floating bird, so what?" The dominant background then led a viewing sequence that ended with an "aha" when I was ultimately drawn to the feather.

Wow, way TMI, let's just say I like this a lot.

Very nice, the feather helps set this apart from many similar photos. Nice touch.

Like it but don't love it - background keeps pulling my eye from the feather.

The boy's expression is priceless. The man on the far right looks like he could be B.D. Colen.

I suspect the audio frequency will be too high for humans to hear. But, I do think your canine clients will appreciate the carefully chosen color palette of yellow, blue and violet - quite clever, really. I also find it interesting that the image is missing any dog ears... and I presume it might be well accompanied by some flabby preludes by Erik Satie.

Hi Janine and greetings from the Critique Club.

Here's a quick summary of what I took away from spending some time with this image...

What caught my attention in a good way was the lovely blue hour light you've captured so well. The color palette is nicely offset by the different temperatures of the artificial light. It all works together very well.
What caught my attention in a "hmmm... I wonder" way was the vertically centered composition with the main subject "bridging" the gap between sky and water. Maybe dropping it a bit more or cropping a bit off the bottom would help.
What caught my attention in a "wish it were different" way was the texture of the water. It seems a bit out of place with the smoothness and calm of the sky. As backdoorhippie noted, a longer exposure would have made a big difference

Overall it's a very pleasant image that captures the gorgeous light of blue hour and punctuates it with highlight of artificial light. It has a sense of cool serenity that is memorable.

Give me a sense of reality in excess. Oversaturated to the point of fantasy. I like it.
