This is an interesting abstract of light play that creates an interesting view of contrast and texture. In the true sense of the term, texture is defined by shape, but I believe the lack of definitive shape outside the realm of the abstract was the undoing of this photo in terms of the challenge.

I do, however, love your approach to this topic. My personal philosophy in photography is to study the specific elements of any particular subject that make it interesting and focus on them instead of the object/subject as a whole. You will find this path quite rewarding in the personal aspects of this hobby, but not so much in the public aspect as shown by the results of the collective vote on this website :)

Keep up the good work :)

Thank you kindly for the time you took to comment on my photo. I'm glad to hear that i didn't DNMC despite the low average vote. I knew that abstracts don't rate too well, and was really hoping to hear comments like this rather than to get high scores :)

Fantastic. I'd love to read how you created that textured effect visible on the wall and floor in basic editing. Possibly a third exposure of something textured? :)
And where did you mount the camera?
Very intriguing shot.

I'm jealous of this shot. How did you make the guitar stable by just leaning it on that chair?

Made me laugh :D
I like it how you made the two subjects look different, wearing different clothes.

The flower closest to the lens looks huge and is a bit distracting. Also, the posture makes it look more like you're trying to pull the tree out rather than hug it :)

You just voided your warranty by using the lens cap the way they weren't meant to be used by Nikon. Very creative, nice shot

This might score lower because of the noise and the light background. You wouldn't hit a guy wearing glasses, would you?

Excellent. I love how the blown background neutralizes the rest of the other exposure.
