Color is good, the only fault that slightly takes away from this is that the focus is not on his face but on his leg, it's still a good shot in my opinion.

Yes, she does look startled, I love seeing the moment when the subject realizes what's happening, I always take a before and an after but it's usually this special moment that I prefere. If this is a candid or not, it's a very nice portrait nonetheless, not sure about that border though.

Yes, there is something not quite right, the girls posture and the bubbles are spot on. The composition is also ok, I think the light was maybe a bit harsh and the depth of field could have been shallower. Sometimes it's just difficult to say what it is that doesn't work.
