It is hard for me to say that this is a good representation of desolation at all. It is a fine picture... it just doesn't pull the slightest feeling of desolation from me. Perhaps some lonliness, but lakes, to me, show hope and life. It's hard to think of desolation when the whole lake is there full of life.

I'm not really sure what you were trying to display with this image. It's interesting... the chain is the only thing that is in focus, which is fine considering that it is obvious that that is what you wanted, but I'm not sure what you were tying to say. The colorful image of the playground in the background detract from the idea of anything here being desolate. Perhaps it might have been more moving had it been taken or converted to black and white.

I'm not sure why, but the quality of the image seems to be low. Did you crop it at all, or are you taking pictures at a low resolution or compressing them alot? Also, the horizon is not even (which, in my opinion, it should be in a picture such as this) Also, There is nothing that really grabs and holds the attention. It is for these reasons that it will get a lower score from me. I would suggest looking into what you can do to improve the overall quality of the file as well as putting a little bit more time into framing an image.

I understand the idea of alone, but in my humble opinion, a forest by a lake with the sun peeking through the clouds displays anything but desolation. It is a nice picture, but it seems full of life to me.

Very busy! It's hard for my eyes to find anything to latch onto. Perhaps an angle that would have been more from the right side would have helped to ease that up some.

Nice, but for some reason, it seems a little pixelized (sorry if I didn't spell that correctly =) Did you crop this picture?

Nice picture of the flower, but your hands become very distracting...

I like what you were going for here, although, I think that the end result ended up being pretty busy. I'm not sure if getting lower under the windows would have helped spread the picture out some or not, but this is one of those pictures that I look at and say "Nice vision, but it didn't reach it's potential" Perhaps a narrower depth of field. I'm not sure, but I like what you saw here.
