at first i was going to say something about the white "elements" of the pic...but the longer i look...the more i like them there. they add a good contract to the darker mood of the picture. The subject is very good, and the dirt and "grit" add great texture. The composition is good as well as the lighting and dof. nice work.

i would have liked to see it equalled out on the right to match the negative space on the left - but that's just a minor observation. The front looks a little too bright or overexposed? The subject is good and original. The table is a good backdrop to compliment the roller. nice pic.

i think with the busy background that this would have worked better in color...but that's just my opinion...and one that i'm not using in my basis for the score. The angles are good - i like that there are horizontal as well as vertical lines ( i'm guessing you tried that =`) the lighting is good as well. nice work.

i would have liked to see a different angle. I'm spending too much time trying to figure out what's what and the like to recognize and appreciate. The lighting is good, as well as the dof. the eye glass "stem" is a distracting in the upper left as well. The different colors are nice and add interest.
