Old Millby dswannComment: I like the texture throughout the shot, the light on the stone wall to the left of the mill, and the light and trees in the upper right. There is a lot of detail here that invites a long visit. |

The Grace of The Diveby patchesComment: Nice light reflecting on the tail and the light on the side near the dorsal showing the strength of the body. |

The Old Millby AmeedEl-GhoulComment: The very smooth blending of dark to light (esp. the blades of the windmill and the figure's head) really work well - almost pure sillouette, but not quite. Well done. |

I Would Find Youby hhuddleComment: I might crop top and left to move the focus away from center and lose some of the gray sky. |

Nursery School Colorsby PGerstComment: Nice composition. I like the dappled sunlight and the primary colors set against the white wall/window. |

Great Sand Dunesby davehamComment: Thanks to all for the comments. The consensus critique seems to have to do with the strip of blue (not actually sky, but part of the Sangre de Cristo mountains behind the dunes). I struggled with this myself and didn't know which was the right way to go - which makes the feedback here so interesting and valuable. I had one commenter who liked and might have preferred even more of the blue. My reasoning when taking the shot was that I loved the crisp edge to the gradient fade of the top layer of dune, and without the strip of mountain behind it, I found it much less powerful. But, I also admit it is as much distracting as it is defining. I have other shots from this session that didn't include the mountains behind the dune and I like them less. |
