The Rewardby RianBotesComment: I like this picture. good lighting and captures alot of emotion in a frame. I was reading your thread Rian - about your picture.
We have something, not as big, but similar where I live, Jersey a small island 14.4km by 8km off the coast of France. It is a walk which circles the whole of the island all the cliff paths, beaches and coastal ridges a total of 77.4km walk. It attacts people from all over the world and around half complete the walk. It starts at 3am and the first normally come in at mid day with the people bringing up the rear finishing around midnight.
I have completed it twice and plan on doing it again next year. The emotional part attached in taking part in a race is uncomprehendable until you finish. Especially for you with your time being so close to the cut off point. Amazing - well done.
However going off on your reward aspect - you should never have run the race with an injury and I have to admit us English are more laid back and might not agree with the saying \"everyone should do the Comrades once in their life\" I think we would rather watch!
Well done! |
