Bulbsby marvinComment: I like the close up view. It is somewhat abstract and sci-fi. The image is somewhat dark, grey and flat. I don't know if autofocus was used or not, but I find using AF on a clear reflecting object tends to throw off the focus point to where nothing is in focus, especially when not using a single point of focus. Excellent Bokeh though! Nailed it. |

Crackersby vtruanComment: Very nice exposure for the natural lighting... missed the focus. |

The Face of Honourby SenayComment: I don't see the need for the shallow depth of field on this shot though you did do an awesome job of isolating the eye's of old Honest Abe. The textures are great, the shadows are not too deep and you managed to get some great highlights with such a short exposure. |

circa 1887by alpharichComment: Very nice use of a highly detailed lens to show all the texture and wear on the coin! Very awesome lighting to show the depth on this relatively flat object! Overall it is a 10 from me! |

Tango Dancerby tangueraComment: The photo is technically awesome. The ligh drapes across the object and there is beautiful color. I love the dark shadows. However, I have no idea what I am looking at and can't tell if it is a tool of a tango dancer. I am guessing it is a wardrobe?? Can't really tell. It would have been better to provide some context. |

Light Flood by HighNoonerComment: I own a 450d as well and I am seriously stunned that this image was created using a 450d!! I am glad I own one after seeing this. What a tremendous motivation to keep going and keep learning to shoot! Awesome job!!! I would love to see the originals... |

The Message is Loveby kiwinickComment: It's a great shot, well exposed, nice black background and lovely red color on the rose. It looks like it is suffering from jpg conversion and resize. Unfortunately there is some definite jagged pixelating on the edges of the pages and the text lost some detail. I'll bet the original does not show this. |

Nature is the Best Scienceby spraguer1377Comment: Good concept and subject. I really like the composition here. I think this could improve by using a polarizing filter to cut the glare from the water. I like how you combined a bug and a leaf in the shot. Sorta serendipitous. |

SCIENCE INSTITUTEby superComment: This is a good landscape photo. The content is a very worthy subject. You have all the great features of a well composed landscape... the shrubs in the foreground, the buildling occupying the midground and the mountains and sky in the middle.
There are a few things that I can see to improve this. I would take a look at the aperture setting. The foreground appears blurred. I am not sure if it from camera shake or from the f-stop chosen. Second, there is a definite line through the middle of the photo. It is the line that separates the base of the mountain from the foreground. I would use the rule of thirds and either increase or decrease the amount of foreground to change where that line hits. You might want to try to recompose this by changing the camera height from the ground or changing the angle of view. One last thing would be to try a polarizing filter. That would help with the haze that appears in the background. All in all this shot made me think about the techniques used and that is a great thing. My critiques were more for my own self improvement but I hope they were helpful for you as well. |

Evolutionby lucky_85Comment: With the broken bulb and the lit candle, this photo represents de-evolution to me. (Just an fyi about the message communicated and how it can be interpreted.) From a photographic standpoint, the photo looks very well lit and if you took it from just the ambient light created by the candle, it is very well done! |
