Greetings from the Comment Bomb Squad!

I have humbly accepted the job of commenting on the portfolio of a man who's mind I lack understanding of. Allow me to say a prayer and dive in!

A very personal shot. I think adding about a 1/2 stop to the exposure, punching the contrast a touch and skipping the desat would have added more drama. If you ever cut a record, this should be your album cover!

Through the use of angle, texture and tone, you have transformed an ordinary rock into an extraordinary portrait of a deep sea beast!

Using a composition simultaneously including the Rule of Thirds, the Rule of Threes, a hint of framing and repetition of shape, the subject has a very well defined focal point. The tones of reflected light and dark are deep bringing the viewer deeper into the image in order to connect with a subject shielded by the watery shapes. Yet the subject is actually the guardian of the deep it inhabits!

I like this better than your entry. I think your entry had too much fill flash. This is a bit better but the snow is still off color. It's probably a good representation of the lighing present, but the yellow/orange snow doesn't go over well.

Greeting from the Comment Bomb Squad!

Just looking through your profile finding a few images with a few comments only in order to give you some more feedback.

I voted this shot a big time 9, and actually voted this higher than the blue ribbon winner from this challenge. I thought you did well with the exposure and the color and the sharpness in a challenge requiring SOOC performance. The advanced edit is great too. I like that your current work is studying one subject, something that you love.

Here you have captured a nice, gritty, character portrait. I voted this a 6 in the challenge and the reasons for my vote were that it had great technicals with good exposure and sharpness. I found his face to be in shadow with the light coming in from behind his rightside making his eyes a little dark. The B&W conversion was very well done wth good tones and I like the gritty edge to this up close and personal capture.

Greetings from the Comment Bomb Squad!

I am just going through your profile looking for a few images without a lot of comments in order to give you some feedback on your shots.

The title sure does reflect the subjeect! Sooo sweet! I think you did really well to get the high key effect here. What is detracting is the lack of contrast. I think you may have pushed up the shadows and highlights a lot, which degraded the contrast in the image. It is definitely noticeable in the eyes, which are very well focused and sharp, but lack the contrast.

The posed angle and the sweetness of the subject are the best features of this shot!
