Welcome home!by tp-fcpComment: Nice shot. To me though, the plane is moving away, which suggests that it is leaving, not coming home as the title suggests. No points off for that though. |

Defying Gravityby HomunculusComment: Nice idea, but the subject's hair and pants blend too much with the background and the overall setting is not very pleasing. |

Sprite Flightby MWittComment: Interesting shot, but I don't care for the background. I think either a darker background or one with a bit more detail would help. Also, there seems to be quite a bit of noise. |

What happened to your "...is seen to be artifice..." comment?? I was rather fond of it. |
If images are but a bulk commodity to be quantified, ordered, and barely glimpsed, then what of the words said unto them? Attach to them no significance and give them no permanence, but let them remain ephemeral, false, and vague, as memory. |
Thanks for your reply, your words make an interesting point. So I have preserved them here in this message in case you again feel the need to make them disappear. Message edited by author 2003-09-23 08:40:11. |

Pedal Fasterby Spork99Comment: Wow, 6th place! Not bad for my 4th challenge. That sets a new high for me. Thanks everyone who voted, and especially everyone who left comments. Yes, the bike was on a wind trainer and those are my hairy legs. I used the remote to shoot while riding. My initial impulse was to make a bracket that mounted to the bike and held my camera, but I didn't get time to shoot anything until about 9pm the night of the submission deadline. Barely made it. Minimal time to run it through PS. The difference in color balance between the flash and the tungsten light did kind of bother me and I'd probably take 2 shots and combine them in PS using layers, but that wouldn't have been legal for the challenge. |
