Actually, it's not an HDR image. I manually blended the 5 exposures. |
Did you mask bits out of different layers? |

The final daisy of summerby DCrest01Comment: Well colour wise I quite like it. Coming at it from the point of view of "why no comments" and "why so average" ..... I just think its a matter of competition context. In a free for all its not exactly an uplifting specimen to look at. In a named category such as "The last" or "end" I suspect you would have done a lot better. I don't find the daisy on the right adds much to the picture except where viewed in the context of the caption. If I'd voted (and I don't in challenges I enter, not until I can consitently get 6 or above) I would have probably given it a 6. |

Pensiveby JaimeVinasComment: I find my eyes are just not interested in the right hand section of the photo. I think that if one produces a contextless image then the ammount of space it occupies needs to be quite small. The exposure of the lass is flawless. |

Birdby GinaRothfelsComment: Would have been better as a pure silhouette and possibly cropped a bit more of the sky out. Longer DOF with some sharpening. It would never have won a ribbon its to different (and I like that) but maybe would have scored higher. DPC certainly encourages excellence but I'm not convinved that it encourages artistic inovation. |

Kirstenby JamesAComment: flower blown, eyes too blue though I think you are right keeping them in colour is a good thing. Execution wise thats my opinion but that is matter of taste rather than pure technical judgement.
Everything else I think is good, its good composition and the emotion is haunting.
You probably scored lower in this because of the selective desaturation I'm guessing folks who like the image composition and would have scored it 6 or 7 dropped a mark.
If I had voted (and I don't in challenged I've entered) I would have given it 7 then maybe bumped it to 8 if I wanted it to win. |
