Neon babyby mweintrComment: the bright lighting gives this an energetic and lively feel. despite the sleeping baby, this is not a calm and restful shot. |

Motionlessby rheardComment: even though the ball is still, the lines on the sand and the precarious placement of the ball atop the slope give this a VERY kinetic feeling, not a feeling of rest. I like the shot and am giving it a 7, but it's not calm. |

Bull's-eyeby kostiaComment: The background is grainy because it's the back of a presswood serving tray. That's just what it looks like. For those who took issue with the title, the red area (50 points) is the "cork," and the term "bull's-eye" refers both to the cork (or "double bull") and the green area (25 points), the "single bull." So I didn't make a mistake with the titling or the aim. It landed in the green, a bull's-eye. |

Freedom of speechby kostiaComment: I'm sorry that my score suffered for the glare from the plastic book jackets. I didn't take them off because I wanted it to be 100% clear that these are library books. You can go to the free public library anywhere and get books that not so long ago you may not have been allowed to read. Many are ones that kids in many schools across the country are still not allowed to read. That's the real freedom I was communicating here. The button was purchased at a bookstore in Denver, but it is available from //www.asja.org/store/button.php for only a dollar. |

Can I Play Too?by vonautschComment: one of my top two in the challenge. both the action of the sport and the emotion of the little brother on the sidelines are here in force. |

Off The Lip by ScottKComment: less "artsy" than a couple of the other surfing shots, but *definitely* more fun. I like this a lot. |

Into the Unknownby KoriyamaComment: great lighting by itself, and the motion on the pawn adds the action. the best chess shot in the challenge. |

Alone With Natureby bruster54Comment: would like to see this from a slightly different angle, so that the fishing pole isn't blocked by/meeting with the tree branches. if it were just her and the rock and the water it would be a better composition. |
