Going to the Chapelby DanaSComment: I find the cropping you chose awkward. Specifically because the corner of one of the openings in the tower touches the frame. My sense, and its just my opinion, is that a little more, or a little less cropping at that point would be more interesting. But I like the detail you captures in the brickwork and the cross. |

none between usby posthumousComment: An interesting interpretation of the challenge. I think I've seen these two inseparable friends before... |

Robladilloby sersalComment: I love the slightly abstract feel that the foreground textures add. I imagine the centered placement of the tree is deliberate on your part, and it is striking, especially in the context of all that negative space above, but in this case to my eyes the lighter colored triangular area on the left competes for attention, and less of that area might have prevented that. Still getting an 8 from me. |

-three-stop-signs-and-a-lightby sfaliceComment: Great shot. I like the three bright splashes of yellow included in the picture as well. They nicely balance the three scarlet red stop signs concentrated in the top half of the picture. |

pastels.simple-exercise_8587.012312by mariucaComment: Lovely colors and shapes and the placement of the transition to the top darker teal color is spot on. I find myself fighting a desire to see just a bit cropped off the right.. the orderly part of my mind is saying something like "if it's going to be a centered composition, then have it properly centered, not just a bit off-center!! Fragmentsby jomariComment: I'm enjoying this mixture of broken glass, graffiti, blinds at the top etc. and the three supports at the bottom, although the background story is saddening. There is something about windows (and doors too for that matter) that often makes them appealing to photograph.
ETA: You might want to translate CBD for us foreigners. I think it's equivalent to what we might call "downtown" and stands for "Central Business District". Is that correct? Message edited by author 2012-10-09 13:47:19. |

Fresh Lemonsby GermaineComment: I can smell them, 3,000 miles away, where of course our lemons are all store bought. I'm loving that slab that the bowl is sitting on with its interesting crack!

beyondby daisydavidComment: I agree with blindjustice... "haunting" Even more so when I saw the figure.. I find it hard to "capture" trees the way I want and have found that using a lensbaby sometimes helps. This has just a bit of that same feel, but is way beyond just a capture of trees. Thanks.
