Trinityby pmichaudComment: A lovely image somewhat spoiled in my eyes by what appears to be an unnatural pattern of moisture as if the petals have recently been misted. A challenge that is about capturing flowers in a meadow or garden to me means capturing them in their natural form, so you loose a couple of points on that basis.
ETA: I was at Point Reyes, CA today as the persistent fog lifted (only briefly). I now know that one can photograph a plant covered with a layer of fine drops of moisture under those circumstances. Regret I did not know this when I made my comment earlier Message edited by author 2011-06-06 20:51:01. |

Brian and Tammy Watkinsby Bear_MusicComment: Glad you dropped by Brian and Tammy. I enjoyed meeting you both. I hope you had a fun drive up the back roads to 101 and a good trip home from there. |

"So... Do you come here often?"by mefnjComment: Ha. Cute, and well captured, with great exposure for the white petals (just a bit of blowout on the upper left). I love the patterns at the center of the right most flower. |

Walk in the gardenby marvinComment: Interesting image, and place. I'm guessing these are flower beds in a park. To my eyes this is over sharpened, and it is kind of hard to make out what the purple flowers are (pansies I think). I like the inclusion of the person walking, hands behind his back, taken in England maybe? |

In The Meadowby antje1777Comment: Great sense of place (and time of year!) I'm finding the composition a bit too centered for my taste, but I love the back lighting of the grass seeds and most of the poppies. |

Tulipby amaurerComment: Lovely tones and an interesting choice of B&W. The only drawback is that is lacks any sense of "place". It could just as easily have been taken indoors as outdoors. ~ I'm not saying that it was taken indoors, just that for this challenge I appreciate and prefer those images that convey the sense of a garden or field more than those that do not. |

Guardians of the Barley by jagarComment: Lovely capture, great sense of "place". I can feel that I am standing there looking across the field and enjoying the hills and the interesting building in the background, and the splashes of color provided by the poppies. The only drawback, to my eyes, is that the barley is over sharpened, and many of the flowers out of focus. But overall, a fun picture to explore. |
