This is borderline abstract to me. A little too recognizable. Having said that, I like the colors, the contrast of the soft feathers against the hard metal and how the chain is looped to lead the eye through the photo.

This is definitely an abstract, since I have no idea what I'm looking at. Having said that, if I'd seen this in a gallery, my first thought would not have been that this is a photo. It may not be, but it looks heavily changed in post-processing to me. I like the curves and the colors, am in two minds about the grain, will have to come back and look again for that.

Oh, yes, beautiful! Yes, I think I can tell what this is (I was considering shooting paper, too, but got sidetracked with another idea), but it's clearly still an abstract in my mind. Love the composition, the vibrant red against the black background, the DOF, I think you got it nailed here.

Straws? Great idea for this. Abstract even though I can tell what this is. Couple of things that - if changed - would improve this one for me: More DOF (so the bottom is in focus, less reflections (not an easy one, I know), crop a bit tighter on the top right corner.

I can sort of see what I'm looking at (a vent cover or similar), but I think it's still an abstract. The shallow DOF, and the only thing being in focus being all the way to the left of the image sort of pull my eye over to only that side, I wonder if I would like a different focal point or more DOF better.

Definitely an abstract, I have absolultely no clue what I'm looking at :) Nice symmetry and color hues and texture. Now, I'm not saying it is, but it looks to me as if a photoshop filter has been applied rather strongly. I guess I'll just check this out again when the results are posted. :)

I can recognize what this is but I think this still qualifies for an abstract :) I like the highlights on some of the metal although overall, this is a bit dark on my monitor.

Abstract - yes, cause I can't tell what this is. The image feels a bit unbalanced to me (too much black on the left), but I do like the colors.

Hm. I have to confess this one doesn't really qualify as an abstract for me, not just because the objects (or shadows + persons in this case) are recognizable, but because they are also not at an unusual angle or anyththing that would make me go, wow, I never looked at it this way, or take a minute to figure out what I'm looking for. Obviously, interpretations of an abstract are very personal. This is just mine. I'll have to come back to you on whether I like this as an image. It works better than I would expect, being that nothing is really in focus.

Wow, there's a lot going on here, even w/out the image being repeated on the left. I find its inclusion very intriguing, but it also draws my eye away from some of the other elements more in the middle of the image. Nice entry though.
