Quiet Cityby jaysonmcComment: I rated this lower, because there is still a lot going on in the city. With that many lights, that much traffic, it's not silent. It might have worked better for me if the left 1/3 of the photo was cropped out. the skyscraper on the left is almost completely lit, and the preponderance of lights in the lower left gives it a lot of life. without this 1/3, the scene is much darker, the darkest skyscraper has few lights on, and the lower half would be in more darkness--then I might have been more inclined to believe the quiet city. |

Bright Tranquilityby phloverComment: this looked very loud to me. the colors were bright, and there's too much going on for it to be quiet, so I rated it lower. A city that's has so much going on can't be silent.
However, I was talking to my mom on the phone, and she was viewing the pictures, and she loved it--it was one of her favorites. |

The Silent Churchby diverssComment: It's a nice idea, but with the sky so saturated, and the church so bright, it doesn't seem very silent to me. I would have liked it better much more toned down. |

The Silentby MAKComment: I originally marked this as a 4, because when I first saw it, I couldn't process it--I couldn't figure out what it was, and it didn't hold my interest enough to keep looking at it. Now that I've gone back and studied it more--I get it. I moved it to a 5, but even though I like the idea, I would have liked it better if the front part of the image was more in focus, and if the background was darker (without the light spots) to set the image off more. It's hard when they take dodge and burn away from us, isn't it! |

Strangers in a parkby avkuvalekarComment: I'm sorry, I think the picture could be much better. The skin tones look too red, though I like the red in the background and on the bench. It looks soft, and I'm not sure about cropping them off.
HOWEVER, I gave you an 8 because I think it really speaks to the category! I've never given an 8 unless I thought the photo was spectacular. But something about this scene really speaks to me. |

Walk, Don't Speakby colorcarnivalComment: ok, someone on a forum just went back and review and rescored. So I'm doing the same thing. I really liked this the first time around, but I decided that I really, really liked it this time. I'm wondering if it would have been better waiting for them to go by and getting the bench out of the shot... I keep going back and forth on that... |

The Winding Roadby onesaintComment: I really, really like the picture, but the foreground tree doesn't stand out much, and there are trees behind it. Even though it's wonderful, it just doesn't seem to fit the single tree category |

Standing By The Pondby BrianRComment: I like the tree, I like the sky and clouds, but the colors are so overdone. I would have like it much better more natural. |
