Yes?by LucidLotusComment: The desaturation here seems to be the 'because I can' variety. There are some interesting textures here, which a sharper focus would have helped to accentuate. |

The Great Hypnochickenby dahkotaComment: I love the pose (which the title nicely emphasizes), but a sharper focus / higher shutter speed would have helped make this image really stand out. I find the aggressive crop at the bottom a bit distracting. A little more negative space to the left would have been nice. |

Hey Buddy, No Trespassing!by Moose101Comment: A deeper DOF would have helped this image, as would a slightly sharper focus. The USM artifacts and the obvious halo around the sign are distracting.

Robin - - First Summerby rileyComment: The rich colors make this stand out from the other pictures of robins and sparrows. The focus on the bird could have been a little bit sharper though; the focus seems to center on the bird's perch. |

Preening In The Fogby EvaanComment: I find the odd color cast and the sharpening artifacts rather distracting. Rendering this in b&w would have preserved the textures and detail without making me wonder whether there's such a thing as a salmon bird. |

Cutieby AJFIComment: the focus here is far too soft, and emphasizes the branches more than the bird |

sandhill craneby dragonladyComment: This would be a stronger image if there was some strong feature visible besides feathers (a beak, a well-defined eye, etc.). |

Stare of an Emuby GaiaComment: I went to high school with a guy who looked a lot like this. On a technical note, the DOF is a little shallow for my tastes; I'd prefer to see his eyes in sharp focus as well.

Flamingoby paganiniComment: This is a good picture, but sadly it's rather cliché; this is at least the 3rd image of a flamingo with a nearly identical pose that I've rated so far in this challenge. There seems to be an unusual amount of noise in this image, particularly noticeable on his beak. Perhaps shooting at a lower ISO speed would help. |
