The ducks are much too dark and the whites are over done - a difficult shot, but a decent attempt.

A difficult shot against the light - a good attempt. Unfortunately, the overly bleached out background just accentuates the black body and much like a black faced dog against a light background you lose detail.

Too much space although the light reflecting off the wings and body are very pleasing to the eye. The distance and lack of detail is a negative though.

The subject being the dog, this could have been taken closer to the door and still have been very effective - as it is the distance to the door and dog are ineffective in stimulating any kind of emotional response.

This really needs a macro treatment to bring out the detail. In these types of images detail is everything. All the other elements are there including good use of DOF.
