Subtle color and an interesting effect with the DOF begining on the left rather than top to bottom which enhances the image's impact. Subtle texture and color with excellant transition from detailed to vague. A worthy entry.

An excellant concept artfully executed. The sense of grain enhances the feeling of time and worthy service. A high impact image well thought out and presented. The various textures build interest in viewing various sections of the image more closely than normal. Subtle tone control which is a big plus. A ribbon contender and quite possibly a winner.

An excellant image of texture in nature - richly detailed and very natural in appearance. A darkened central area only enhances the over all effect. Subtle color tone while at the same time, very dramatic imparting a sense of the natural world. A worthy contender for a top 15 finish.

A good idea that is well constructed and presented. No major flaws and it demonstrates natural texture in a very subtle way. Interesting use of DOF control to produce an effective, vague yet detailed background. A solid effort and very pleasing to the eye.

An excellant conversion to grayscale with good detail and DOF control - it presents as a graphite pencil drawing which is difficult to produce. A worthy entry and a top contender.

A macro shot that is right on the edge of being excellant. Unfortunately, the water reflection creates a false shadow area area that detracts from the foreground. A solid effort just shy of good execution.
