The effective use of foreground to frame the image is a plus. Rich in detail with interesting changes in color and shape. A solid entry and possible top ten contender if one looks past the flatish nature of the image.

Wonderfully abstract - very simple with subtle tones and shapes. Little tiny spots only enhance the sense of texture, but could be seen as a flaw affecting the overall asthetic. A solid entry into the challenge.

A visually pleasing presentation of corragated steel. The plywood panel is an excellant contrast to the to the steel. The background is complimentary to the subject matter and has it's own texture to add to the image as does the foreground. The steel appears to be right on the edge of being over sharpened. A worthy top 20 contender and possibly a top ten.

A interesting approach to the challenge subject. The image works on several levels from layering the sky with branches to the details of the tree trunk. The image from a color standpoint is a little flat and could use a little tweaking to make it pop. A solid entry. Nice concept.

It's all about my nose!

A nice eye for changing details from color to DOF. Natural texture from the center image towards the back with the gentle fade is very pleasing to the eye. A solid entry into the challenge.

A clever title conveying the overall sense of the image. Minor little negative detail in the light fade at the top left of the image and there is too much foreground to be truly effective with impact. If the bottom were cropped out and the top given a slightly different treatment - even a minor crop, it would be a top 25 image.

Provacative and interesting - an abstract in every sense with interesting details scattered about the image. As a texture shot, it's marginal, but the intent is there and it is a good entry into the challenge.

Facade

A sure fire top ten entry and a very likely ribbon winner. Perfect composition in many ways - too many to detail. The author should be very proud of this image as it is an excellant demonstration of proper lighting, subject matter and composition/framing execution highlighting the variable nature of texture.

Very dramatic and highly figured, a terrific natural world capture. Nothing seems out of place or over done. Apt title compliments the image. A solid entry into the challenge.

Feathered Satin

A perfect demonstration of various textures from gentle curves to smooth surfaces to highly figured feathers. A very apt title which works well with the image. The highlights are a little over done interrupting the smooth flow of color and texture in the folds of the satin in the foreground. Otherwise an excellant entry and worthy of a top fifteen entry and possibly a top ten.
