Minatureby bfurnerComment: A good image unfortunately the fence breaks up all the interesting things going on with the horse. As a texture image it just misses the mark. The author should revist this sans fence for a future challenge. |

to touch a swanby steve100Comment: An extremely diffucult image to pull off and the author has done a great job with the subject matter. Variable details from round to linear show off the textures of the natural world in spectacular fashion. Great background control. A very worthy image for the challenge and should be a top 25 image. |

Reflectionby ionelpopComment: A very inventive concept just a little shy of being perfectly executed. If the foreground were a little sharper with less DOF, it would have worked some special magic. As it stands, it's a wonderful concept and should be repeated as soon as a challenge subject suitable to the concept comes up. This would work extremely well if the DOF were controlled from sharp to gently faded background. A slightly different angle would help. |

Hexagon by orvaratliComment: An apt title. A little larger than necessary. Subtle texture changes which are a plus. It wouldn't have hurt the image to crop the top to the waterline and would have improved the overall impact. Excellant color control and the shadows are not over done. The temptation to increase the shapes by over sharpening was avoided. A worthy entry into the challenge. |

Contour~n~Downby DamzelComment: Stunning color, the barbs of the feathers are rich in detail and the background is simple and highly complimentary to the subject matter. A minor little flaw with the slightly overdone white blooms, but those are not immediately noticed and only on review do they appear. A top ten image for sure and a possible ribbon contender. Well done. |

Wrinkles!by smellyfish1002Comment: Very clever and highly amusing - an image using texture to convey a sense of fun and self awareness perfectly executed. A sure fire blue ribbon contender and a personal favorite. Well done. |

By the Seaby mpetersComment: The author avoided the temptation to make the image taller than necessary and that is a significant plus. The little spots of color enhance the figured beach sand and the background is properly composed and presented increasing the images effectiveness. There is an even more effective image if the top were cropped out presenting only the beach sand. Either way, it's a solid entry into the challenge effectively demonstrating natural world texture. A possible top ten, certainly a top 25. |

Floralby SoulComment: Much to flat to be effective. The image could use more contrast to bring out the details. |

studying Texturesby MiepComment: The fade from the foreground is distracting and the image is too tall to be truly effective with respect to the title. If the bottom were cropped off the improvement would be significant. A good effort lacking in execution. |

Is it football season yet?by SEGComment: No it's not - it's baseball season. :>) A well controlled concept and almost perfect execution of same. The edges of the lace white are over done but the eye is drawn to the pigskin first which lessens the white's impact. Properly focused and a complimentary background. A solid entry into the challenge. |
